Hi everyone,
Yung-Chen Lin will be accompanying my studio recital May 22 at 7pm.
The following people won’t need to rehearse with her (I can play for you): Monica, Cole, Meera, Joseph.
She will be available to rehearse on Saturday, May 19 between noon and 5pm, and before the recital on Tuesday May 22 from 5pm-6:30pm. This rehearsal will be at the Wilmington Branch. Please try to take a Saturday time if it is at all possible. Email me with your availability as soon as possible so that I can set up a schedule.
Thank you! I’m looking forward to hearing you all play at the same time and place!
It’s to the right of this page. It has a link to the Suzuki Academy blog and other useful websites.
Here is a link to the Suzuki Association’s Website listing of the summer institutes for this year. I highly recommend an institute for any Suzuki student. All students I have talked to have found them very motivational, and often feel like they made a semester’s worth of progress or more in a single week.

The most cello-friendly institutes are :
Chicago (I will hopefully be attending again this year): June 30-July 8
Ithaca: July 1-20
Nearby institutes:
Pennsylvania Suzuki Institute: July 22-27
Greater Washington Suzuki Institute: June 23-July 1
There are also several institutes in good tourist locations if you like to combine vacation with education. If you’re interested in an institute, let me know and I can help you research the cello faculty and let you know what to expect.
I have to go back to Houston to help my mother, so I will not be teaching lessons or group on these dates. I will make these lessons up during the make-up weeks at the end of the semester (June 3, 12-14, 18-23) or (if you are a Suzuki Academy Student) during the week of Suzuki Day (March 20-24) because there are no regular lessons that week. Boccherini Group Class will be made up on Saturday, May 5 at 11:15am.
Suzuki Academy Day is March 24, which will serve as your lesson commitment for that week. However, I will be teaching Suzuki students at their regular lessons times that week (except for Saturday students.) Please plan to attend your regular lesson time that week. If I don’t owe you any make-up lessons, then you get an extra lesson this semester – Good Work!
No private lessons or Cello Choir on Friday, March 9. I’ve been invited to give Master Classes at the Levine School in Washington, D.C. Sorry for the inconvenience!
There will be no lessons Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012
I am playing a recital at 3pm on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at the Wilmington Branch. It will be some Suzuki Book 7 and 8 repertoire, plus my husband and I will be playing a Suite for 2 Cellos and Piano with Julie Nishimura from the University of Delaware. On the second half of the program, my adult cello choir will be performing. The concert is free and should last less than 1 1/2 hours. Please plan to attend!
Lastly, thanks to Lynn Rzucidlo, I added a link to the “Links” page that has free downloadable practice charts. They are very cute and hopefully helpful for those youngsters needing motivation to do their repetitions. Check it out – Links to my blog’s pages are on the right of this page.
