Dvorak Group performance Sunday Sept. 23, 2012

We have been invited to perform at the Queen theater in downtown Wilmington as a part of “In Wilmington” Week festivities. We will likely be performing a lot of the works that we played for the Shakespeare Festival, but hopefully can add a couple of new things.

Please put it on your calendar. It will be sometime between 3pm and 5pm that day. Let me know if you have a previous commitment.

Studio recital rehearsals!

Hi everyone,

Yung-Chen Lin will be accompanying my studio recital May 22 at 7pm.

The following people won’t need to rehearse with her (I can play for you): Monica, Cole, Meera, Joseph.

She will be available to rehearse on Saturday, May 19 between noon and 5pm, and before the recital on Tuesday May 22 from 5pm-6:30pm. This rehearsal will be at the Wilmington Branch. Please try to take a Saturday time if it is at all possible. Email me with your availability as soon as possible so that I can set up a schedule.

Thank you! I’m looking forward to hearing you all play at the same time and place!

Important Announcements

Achievement Week is coming soon! It will be Monday 4/30, Tuesday 5/1, Wednesday 5/2, Thursday 5/3, Friday 5/4, and Saturday 5/5. Your appointment to play for the faculty will be on your regular lesson day near your regular time. There are no regular lessons that week.
If you are participating in Suzuki Graduation, it occurs during Achievement Week. If you aren’t, we will decide at your lesson this week what you will play.
I will be attending the Suzuki Association Conference May 23-28. There will be no lessons this week, except I plan to teach Cole and Diana at their regular lesson times.
My Studio recital is 7pm on Tuesday, May 22 at the Wilmington Branch. I will videotape everyone’s performance and give you comments. This will serve as your lesson for the week of May 21. I will not be making up these lessons, even if you are unable to attend the recital. I’ve requested that the accompanist be available on a Saturday afternoon and for an hour before the recital to rehearse with you. As soon as I have the dates worked out with the pianist, I will let you know.

Harvest Concert reminder for some Dvorak group members

Isaac, Alex, Julian, and Daniel: You will be performing on both the cello/flute/viola Harvest Concert at 1:00, and the violin Harvest Concert at 3:00. I’ve mentioned this before, but wanted to make sure that everyone is very clear about it. Let me know if you have any questions.

Also, we will be in room 224 this week for group (rehearsing with the violins.)
